Philip Manian Obituary
Philip had a 30 year career as a human resource assistant with the Personnel Support Activity Detachment at the U.S. Navy Base, Newport. He was a longtime member of Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Church, Providence, where he also belonged to the Backgammon Club. Philip was an avid sports fan, frequently attending NE Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics games. He loved music and enjoyed attending many Grateful Dead and other classic rock concerts. Philip leaves two brothers, Samuel R. and Peter G. Manian, three nephews and a niece.
VISITATION Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. at the CHEETHAM Funeral Home, 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence. Interment will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the church will be appreciated. CheethamFuneralHome.com

Phil, you were the first "good morning" I received coming in the door followed up by a quick chat about just about anything . . . you will be dearly missed, my friend! You were deeply cared about by your entire PSD family and the office will never quite be the same. Rest in peace, sweet Phil.

Phil was a fixture in the live music scene. I can't tell you how many times our paths crossed. Although I didn't know him his presence will be missed. Godspeed

My heart was saddened when I learned of Phil's passing. He was a great guy who was just beginning to warm up to me because I too loved sports. He will truly be missed in the PSD building. Rest in Peace!

I was in the Navy stationed in Newport in the early 90s and Phil worked for me, he was definitely a unique individual and a fun guy to be around. Over the years we continued to stay in touch, talking Sox, Pats and about his beloved Redskins. It was truly a shock to hear of his passing. My condolences to friends and family members. RIP good buddy.
