Raymond Beaudette Obituary

Raymond T. Beaudette

WOONSOCKET - Raymond Theodore Ray Beaudette, 98, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025 with his family by his side. Born

on March 2, 1927 he was the son of the late

Celina and

Theodore Beaudette and brother of the late Robert Beaudette.

Ray lived a long and vibrant life marked by service to his country, devotion to his family, and an enduring passion for sports and community.

A graduate of Woonsocket High School, Ray began his professional journey working at Woonsocket Textiles before continuing his career at Mark Steven's Corp. His work ethic and leadership extended beyond the workplace-he was instrumental in founding softball, golf and bowling leagues at Mark Steven's Corp., fostering camaraderie among colleagues and friends.

Ray proudly served in the United State Navy during World War II. His dedication earned him several commendations, including the WWII Victory Medal, the American Area Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal. While serving his country, he also played baseball for the Navy-a testament to his lifelong love of sports.

A true athlete at heart, Ray remained active well into his senior years. He was an avid bowler and golfer and continued playing softball into his later years. His remarkable commitment to the game earned him a place in the Field of Dreams Softball Hall of Fame as the oldest senior player on a softball team. Ray could always be found at Mount St. Charles Hockey games being an avid supporter for the past 50 years, he and his trusted friend and driver Bert Paul would travel to any ice rink that the Mounties were playing. He also gave back to youth sports by coaching Little League Baseball, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with younger generation.

Ray's zest for life extended far beyond athletics. Known as the life of the party, he loved traveling, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with those closest to him. His warmth and energy left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ray was an active member of St. Joseph Senior Club and enjoyed the monthly luncheons and occasional trips.

A devoted member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Woonsocket, Ray found strength and community through his faith.

Ray was predeceased days earlier by his beloved wife of 74 years Marilyn G. Beaudette. He is survived by his children: Roger and his wife Jeannie Beaudette of Woonsocket; Bill and his wife Lorraine of Bellingham, Massachusetts; and Nancy and her husband Guy Gervais of Florida. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Michael and Megan Beaudette of Woonsocket; Grant and Adam Gervais of Florida; Keith and Brian Beaudette of Massachusetts; as well as great-grandchildren Abbi, Riley, Sophia, and Levi.

Raymond Theodore Baudette lived a full life defined by service, joy, family bonds, and an unwavering spirit. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
