Raymond J. Forget

WOONSOCKET - Raymond J. Forget, 89, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 68 years of Beatrice V. (Langlois) Forget.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on October 20, 1927, he is the son of the late Joseph and Lea (Bergeron) Forget. He is the loving father of Robert J. Forget and his wife, Nancy of Woonsocket, RI, Raymond A. Forget and his wife, Elaine of Blackstone, MA, Michelle A. Allard and her husband, Ed of Bellingham, MA and the late Suzanne Forget and David A. Forget. He leaves his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is the brother of Robert Forget and his wife, Nina of North Smithfield, RI, Jeannette Ackley and her husband, Richard of Woonsocket, RI, Bertha Henault of Woonsocket, RI and the late Lucien, Oliver, Henry and Albert Forget, and Rita Baillargeon and Doris Bissonnette.
A resident of Woonsocket for over 30 years formerly of Bellingham, MA and Venice, FL, he worked as a soft trim repairman at General Motors in Framingham, MA for 37 years until retiring in 1989.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and Korean War having served on the USS Nereus and received the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal.
He enjoyed working around his home and flower gardening. His greatest joy was being with his family and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17th at 11:30AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting hours from 10AM to 11:30AM prior to service. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham with military honors. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
