Rene Beauregard Obituary

CUMBERLAND - Rene E. "Mister B" BEAUREGARD, 95, of Cumberland, passed away Monday April 25th at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Doris F. (Godin) Beauregard.
Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Aldea (Joubert) Beauregard. He resided in Cumberland for the past 52 years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Rene was raised in Seekonk, MA and entered the United States Army in 1942. He was a World War II Veteran, and proudly served his country, attaining the rank of T-5 Truck Driver Light 345. He was deployed in many battles in Tunisia and in Anzio, Naples-Foggia, North Apenines, PO Valley and Rome-Arno, Italy. He was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed as a Molder and Machine Operator for Texas Instruments for 20 years retiring in 1973. Following retirement he and his wife opened two Western Clothier Outlets, the Do-Si-Do Western Wear in the 1960's and Mister B's Riding Apparel in the 1970's both located in Pawtucket. After 38 years of business Mister B's became a local retail "Institution", according to a Pawtucket Times article, marking it's closure in 2003. They also owned several real estate properties within the city of Pawtucket.
Throughout their 60 years of marriage, Rene and Doris traveled to more than 27 countries abroad, including; China, Japan, Russia, England, France, Poland, Egypt, Israel, Germany and Italy. They also spent time at their second home in Kissimmee, Fl.
He leaves five daughters, Denise Elliott (John) of Naples, Florida, Joanne Billington of Smithfield, Paula DeMello (Dr. John B.) of Lincoln, Paulette O'Malley of South Windsor, CT, and Donna Moretti (Glenn) of Lincoln; his son, Ronald Beauregard (Bonnie) of North Attleboro; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also a nephew Richard Beauregard of Deland, FL., and one niece Lois Beauregard Adams of Florida. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Ovila Beauregard, Helen Beauregard, and Noella White.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday April 29th at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Military honors will follow.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
