Rene L. L'Etoile

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Rene L. L'Etoile, 81, of North Smithfield, died June 1, 2021 in his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Rachel (Coderre) L'Etoile. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Augustin and Helene (Boisvert) L'Etoile.

Rene worked for H & H Machine & Tool Company in Woonsocket, as a machinist, until his retirement in 2004. He enjoyed metal detecting, biking, and woodworking in his spare time. Rene was an avid craftsman, who built his log home on Buck Hill.

Besides his wife, Rachel, he is survived by three sons, David and his wife Jean of North Smithfield, William L'Etoile of Swansea, MA, and Richard L'Etoile of California; his daughter Lisa Dumas and her husband Jeffrey of North Smithfield; five brothers, Augustin "Pete" L'Etoile of New Hampshire, Roger L'Etoile and Ronald L'Etoile, both of North Smithfield, Eugene L'Etoile of Northfield, MA , and George "Andy" L'Etoile of Blackstone, MA; his sister, Marie-Anne L'Etoile of Murphy, NC; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Helene Caine.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
