Richard A. Rouleau

BURRILLVILLE - Richard A. Rouleau, 74, of Oakland, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 27, 2016, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.

He was the loving husband of 56 years to Claire (Perreault) Rouleau.

He was born in Woonsocket, son of the late Albert and Donalda (Giguere) Rouleau.

Richard was an assistant facilities manager for 30 years for the Burrillville School Department. Previously, he was a master carpenter. He was a lifelong Oakland resident and was an avid fisherman with his friend, Bill Pichie; a New England Patriots fan; and he also enjoyed gardening.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa Misunas of Oakland, Brenda Myette and her husband Brian of Brooklyn, Conn., and Gary Rouleau and his wife Kathy of Oakland; his grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan and Jesse Misunas, Kassondra and Jared Rouleau; and a sister, Claire Lapierre. He is also survived by his nephews, Michael and David Herard; a niece, Karen Pelletier; and his constant companion, his dog Bo.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy-Lou Rouleau; siblings Gerard, Roland and Armand Rouleau, Simone Tanguay, Marie and Theresa Walker, and Janette Guilbeault; and a nephew, Mark Herard.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Help Church, Victory Highway, Mapleville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at Our Lady of Good Help Church, Mapleville.
