Rita M. Gauthier

PAWTUCKET - Rita M. Gauthier, 91, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She was the wife of the late Clovis Gauthier, for 62 years, until his death in 2011. Rita was born in Central Falls, the daughter of the late Alfred and Antoinette (Roberge) Sabourin and she was a lifelong resident of the Blackstone Valley. She was a proud homemaker; a den mother for the cub scouts; she loved to read, and she was very active in the parish life of Our Lady of Consolation Church where her husband served as a deacon for many years.
She leaves her children Susan Gauthier of Central Falls, Paul and his wife Gwendolyn Gauthier of Sacramento, CA and Thomas and his wife Jeannine Gauthier of North Smithfield, her daughter-in-law Helene Gauthier of North Attleborough, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Raymond Gauthier.
Her funeral will be held from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket on TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Consolation Church, Holy Family Parish, on TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours in the funeral home on SUNDAY, MARCH 20, 2016 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island in Rita's memory would be appreciated.
