Robert J. Ayotte

WOONSOCKET - Robert J. Ayotte, 84, of Woonsocket, RI passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 66 years of Lillian Y. (Bourdon) Ayotte. Born in Woonsocket, RI on November 28, 1933 the son of the late Hormidas and Annette (Varieur) Ayotte. He is the loving father of Dean V. Ayotte and his wife, Gloria of Woonsocket, RI and David P. Ayotte and his wife, Cheryl of North Smithfield, RI. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Robert, Joseph, and David Ayotte and his great-grandchildren Abigail, Dean, Judith, Jackson and Eli Ayotte. He is the brother of Eugene Ayotte, Juliette Campanelli, Yvette Kind Suzanne Pontbriand and the late Victor Ayotte, Jeannette Litz and Constance Juszczyszyn.
Robert was the Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Woonsocket until retiring and previously worked at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA. He also for 30 years was a bartender at the former Bolduc Lounge. He volunteered at the former Social Little League and was a coach, manager, umpire and served as President. He also was a manager and coach in the Pony and Colt Baseball Leagues. He was an avid Yankee fan and loved to tease Red Sox followers. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
