E. KILLINGLY, CT - Susan J. (Sherman) Labonte, 81, of East Killingly, CT, passed away August 17, 2018 at home. She was the wife of the late Gerald J. Labonte. Born in San Diego, CA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Marian (Hackett) Sherman.
She worked as a purchasing agent for various companies for many years. She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Foster, staying actively involved with the community in many ways. She ran the food pantry, taught CCD, and assisted with the elderly outreach program. Susan was a friend to all.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathrin Loretz and her husband Tom of Waxhaw, NC; two sons, Russell Labonte and his wife Celine of Foster, and Kurt Labonte of Eagle River, AK; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Archie Sherman of Westerly; and a sister Gail Sherman of Greenville. She was the sister of the late Sara Sherman and Roy Sherman.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 8:45 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 116A Danielson Pike, Foster, RI. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, 1049 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, RI. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 - 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Food Pantry, 116A Danielson Pike, Foster, RI 02825, or to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society of RI, 2348 Post Rd #114, Warwick, RI 02886.
