Vera E. Glidden-Lambert

STUART, FL - Vera E. (Lanigan) Glidden-Lambert, 90, of Stuart, FL, passed away on June 25, 2016 at Harper House in Stuart, FL. She is the beloved wife of Louis O. Lambert. Born in Rexton, New Brunswick, Canada on October 16, 1925, she is the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Mary E. (Courtney) Lanigan. She is the loving mother of Karen Cournoyer of Nahunta, GA, Debra Bonvini and her fiancé, Bill Paine of Bellingham, MA, Richard Glidden and his wife, Beth of London, Ontario, Canada, Lorraine Rice and Roger Fournier of Woonsocket, RI, Susan Ghelli and John Bell of Raleigh, NC and predeceased by her son Paul M. Glidden. She is the stepmother of Claire Lambert Achillies of Woonsocket, RI and Richard Lambert. She leaves her grandchildren and step grandchildren, Michael Wells, Kristie Cournoyer, Stacey Bragdon, Nicole Clinton, Nicole Rice-Burke, Melinda Rice, Breanna and Lauren Ghelli, John Ford, Renee Johnson, Janet Barbrie and 15 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson due in August. She leaves her brother Murray Lanigan of Nova Scotia and several nieces and nephews.
Vera was a resident of Stuart, FL since 1996 formerly of Chepachet, RI and Mendon, MA. She was a cafeteria worker at the Henry P. Clough School in Mendon, MA and previously worked at AT Cross Inc in Lincoln, RI and United Mine Safety in Providence, RI.
Vera enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, singing in a country band up until her death, leading water aerobics in her park pool and traveling the United States. Devoted to her family, Vera will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 15th at 12:00PM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting time from 11:00AM to 12:00PM prior to service. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472
