Alice M. Melbye

Alice Mae (Wileman) Melbye, 92, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and formerly of Beloit Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. She was born on January 21, 1933, in Stoughton Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Marion (LaFluer) Wileman. Alice was a graduate of Beloit High School and Columbia Nursing School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Roland Melbye on April 25, 1959, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Alice was a dedicated RN, employed by Beloit Memorial Hospital, retired in 1994. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Alice loved camping nationwide; especially at Camp Rubidell, Devils Lake and Kohler-Andrae state parks. She enjoyed knitting and doing crafts. She thoroughly loved spending time with and devoting herself to her grandchildren, and her extended family. She baked cookies, toffee, and pies constantly. She lived most of her life in Beloit WI before moving to New Berlin WI in 2017. Survivors include her husband, Roland; three children Dennis (Terry) Melbye, Carl (Teresa) Melbye and Kristine (Michael) Crossman; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Jason (Ridhwana), Joshua, Jacquelynn Melbye, Jenna (Caleb) Vorwerk, and Allison Crossman; two great grandchildren Kira and Ian Melbye; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers George (Emilie) Wileman, John (Anita) Wileman and David (Amber) Wileman; and two sisters Mary Lou (Fran) Dooley and Katie (Michael) Sartino. Funeral service for Alice will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
