Arthur Roy Champlin

Arthur "Art" Roy Champlin, 97, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in his home. He was born April 25, 1928 in Kendall, WI, the son of Roy Henry and May (Webb) Champlin. Art married Beverly A. Purdy on July 16, 1950 in Beloit, WI. She predeceased him on October 2, 2022. Art created A&B Auto Parts from the ground up. He handled business and taught people a lesson who needed it. Art knew everything about cars, trucks and anything salvage related. He was a true wheeler and dealer. Art always provided for his family and enjoyed watching wrestling, old Westerns and John Wayne. Survivors include his children, Sandy Moore, Alice "Squeak" Keniston and Cheryle "Spook" Myers; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; twin sisters, Bonnie Martin and Buelah "Boots" Zinke; his little donut dog; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Harlan "Bimbo" and Arthur "Poops" Champlin; and sister, Rose Niles. A Celebration of Life for Art will be at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2025 at A&B Auto Parts, 1664 Guetschow, South Beloit, IL.
