Edward Weber Obituary
Edward (Ed) William Weber Brodhead, WI – Edward (Ed) William Weber was born September 16, 1932 to Leonard and Regina (Esser) Weber and was called home by his heavenly Father on August 3, 2025 at the age of 92. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Ed grew up on a farm near Cross Plains, WI. He married Katherine Bray on April 12, 1958 shortly after his discharge from the Army. Ed and Kathy became pen pals while he was in the army stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was assigned to the mail room. We are certain he was the originator of the phrase "you've got mail." Ed surprised Kathy by showing up at her door in Janesville, Wisconsin, while on leave from the army, on his way home to Cross Plains. The rest, as they say, is history as the couple married in 1958 and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in April 2025. Dad had a great sense of humor and instigated many shenanigans. One of our favorites was when Mom was standing at the kitchen sink, and dad brought a horse into the house and snuck up behind her without her knowing, until the soft nose of the horse touched her shoulder. The couple were dairy farmers with their first farm in Ashton. In 1968, Webers moved to a larger farm near Brodhead, Wisconsin. Ed was involved in several organizations including FFA Alumni, Rock County Dairy Promotion Council and American Legion. Through the American Legion, Ed provided Blue Star window banners to local families of active military. Ed enjoyed his time on the CB radio where he was known as "Mr. Ed." He was involved with the Renk Seed Company where he was a local salesman for many years. Upon retirement, Ed spent many years volunteering for Evansville Manor where he delivered mail, assisted residents on outings, and at Christmas dressed as Santa delivering gifts to residents. Ed will be missed by his children, Paul Weber, Teresa (Dale) Earleywine, Rita Shimniok (special friend Kurt), Robert (Michelle Van) Weber, Diane (Dan) Kaiser, Sira (Bridget) Nsibirwa, and daughter-in-law, Linda Yardley. His 18 grandchildren, Kimberly Langenfeld, Katie Moga, Ashley Weber, Blake Weber, Kalaka Moss, Ilana Uemura, Cordel Weber, Joshua Earleywine, Sarah Murphy, Kyle Shimniok, Abigail Shimniok, Christine Radcliff, Jon Vu, Bryant Vu, Brad Kaiser and Jessica Kaiser, Gavin and Gabby; 17 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Joe Weber, John (Janice) Weber, sister-in-law Sue Weber; dear friends Margie and Dean Darling; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, son Michael Weber, grand-daughter Angelina Nsibirwa, sisters MaryAnn and Betty, brothers Jerome, Paul, Harold, and his son-in-law, Jesse Shimniok. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in Ed's memory. The family would like to express their great appreciation for the care that Ed received from the Kelly House this year in Evansville, Wisconsin and to Moments Hospice for ensuring Dad was comfortable in his final days.
