Gloria J. Gorrell

Gloria J. (Kozelka) Gorrell, 87, of Rockford, IL, died on November 1, 2025. She was born September 26, 1938 in Prairie du Chein, WI, the daughter of Rudolph and Florence (Fisher) Kozelka. She married Ralph Gorrell on May 3, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca, WI. Ralph preceded her in death on March 1,1999.
Gloria graduated from Seneca High School in 1956. She retired from the United States Postal Service. Gloria has had a wide variety of jobs, both full time and part time over her lifetime. She kept active through volunteer work beginning as a high school student teaching prayers to first communicants and Latin to altar boys. The most memorable being the summer she DJ'd the Sunday afternoon classics on the Beloit College radio station.
Gloria is survived by her children, Rose (Gary) Davis of Beloit, WI, Kenneth Gorrell of Beloit, WI, Laura (Jeff Graves) Gorrell of Janesville, WI, Brian (Kimberly) Gorrell of Kirrimuir, Scotland, and Andrew (Nora) Gorrell of Rockford, IL. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and step grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She is further survived by 6 sisters, Nancy Eddy, Ruthann Gudenschwager, Kathleen (Dean) Levendoski, Susan Cooley, Elizabeth (Ray Whiteaker) Kozelka and MaryAnn (Alan) Bark; two brothers Gary (Shirley) Kozelka and David Kozelka; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Beyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Daniel (Sara) Gorrell, her father and mother, a brother James, an infant brother, brothers-in-law Arthur Eddy, Kenneth Cooley, Alan Beyer and Phil Gudenschwager and a sister-in-law, Florence Bell.
A memorial service for Gloria will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 in Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI. A visitation of remembrance will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL.
