Irene Helton Obituary

WINNEBAGO, IL – Irene Mae Helton (Chamberlain), age 74, of Winnebago, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Thursday, September 25, 2025. Born in Rockford, IL on October 21, 1950 to Samuel & Katherine Chamberlain (Webster). She married George W. Helton on October 11, 1969 in Rockford. Irene was the life of the party. She loved spending time with her family. When not with family you could find her watching Gumby, listening to Charlie Pride or playing the slots. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. She is survived by her beloved husband, George Helton; children, Michael (Tammy) Helton and Bear (Carri) Helton; grandchildren, Sean Helton, Sabrina Helton, Samantha (Billy Hopper) Helton, Kalup (Kyri Weiscope) Griffis, Caitlin Mixon and Brianna Mixon; great grandchildren, Ryder Mixon, Kaydin Mixon and expecting great granddaughters in October and December; siblings, Alma Johnson, Ellie Forreske, Mary Salgado and Chuck Chamberlain; special pets, Lenny and Pie. She is predeceased by her parents, Sam & Catherine Chamberlain; and sister, Diane Lundstrom. Arrangements are Pending. www.rockfordfunerals.com
