James Alexander Brown Jr.

James Alexander Brown Jr. of Rockford departed this earthly life October 27, 2025. He was born October 20, 1935 in Vicksburg, MS the son of James Sr. and Georgia Brown. James lived in Rockford since 1963 coming from Rhode Island. He married Monica in 1961, she preceded him in death. James later married Geraldine Clark in the late 1960's, later divorcing. He also married Faye Davis, in 1972, she preceded him in death. James was employed as a cook by Original Pancake House and as a machine operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. James attended schools in Vicksburg, MS. James leaves to cherish many loving memories, his special grandson, who he loved like a son, James Nathaneil Davis; sister, Ann Staff; three brothers, Fred Brown, Michael (Michelle) Brown and George Brown; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including special friend, Carolyn Wallace. He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Willie, Melvin, Joseph and Bernard Brown; and sister, Theresa Brown and special friend Deloris . Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc.200 N. Johnston Avenue. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery .Visitation 12:00p.m. until the time of service.
