Katherine Elizabeth Petitt

Katherine Elizabeth Petitt, 91, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Augusta Nursing Home in Agusta, Wisconsin. Katherine was born to Casper and Elizabeth (Krause) Horn on Thursday, April 12, 1934, in Beloit, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to William Petitt on May 12, 1951. Katherine was well known as the Deli manager at Kohl's Grocery store in Beloit. She also worked at Roma Pizza plant in Black River Falls for five years. Katherine loved reading and, in her retirement, she learned how to cross stitch. Katherine made many beautiful blankets, pillowcases, and other items throughout the years. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Mary Sasman; parents, and multiple siblings. Katherine's memory will forever be in the hearts of her children, Wanda (Jeff) Amo, Joan (Michael) Esser, Joseph Petitt, Julie (Brian) Majerus, and Mark Petitt (Becky Campfield); son-in-law, Gerhart Sasman; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. An additional service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect St. Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service, burial will take place in Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit, Wisconsin. Family prefers memorials be sent to St. Croix Hospice or to St. John Lutheran Church in Beloit.
