Linda Vawters Obituary

Linda Lou Vawters of Rockford departed this earthly life May 3, 2025. She was born June 28, 1956 in Sparkman, Arkansas the daughter of Frank and Dessie Clark. Linda lived in Rockford most of her life coming from Sparkman. She married Joseph Vawters, he preceded her in death. Linda was employed as a C.N.A. by River Bluff Nursing Home over 10 years before becoming disabled. She was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. Linda attended Auburn High School, later to receive her GED. Linda leaves to cherish many loving memories, her son, Joseph Clark; daughter, Patrice Vawters; nine grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Avington, Dessie Owens Page, Eva Owens, Pauline Owens, and Vivian Rouse; five brothers, Robert "Sam" Huddleston, Roosevelt Owens, Paul Owens, Keith (Sharitta) Owens and John Browning; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Thomathy Lamont Clark; mother, Dessie Mae Owens; father, Frank Clark; and step father, Roosevelt Owens. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday May 19, 2025 at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church 109 Lincoln Park Blvd. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
