Michael Cantrell David

Michael Cantrell "Mike D." David, of Rockford departed this earthly life August 3, 2025. He was born October 29, 1981 in Rockford the son of Robin Walston and Michael L. David. Michael was employed as a fork lift operator by Gunite Foundry, following in the footsteps of his grandfather. He attended several Rockford churches and was raised in Living Faith Tabernacle under the leadership of Rev. James Stanley Sr. Michael attended Guilford High School and later received his G.E.D. He was loved by so many. Michael had such a great since of humor and sincere compassion for people especially children. He wore a smile in his eyes as well as his face, which spoke volumes without him saying a word. Michael leaves to cherish many loving memories, his children who he loved unconditional without measure, three sons, Michael L. David, Myaire K.L. David and Makai H. David; three daughters, Mikayla C. David, Malani M. David and Malaysia C. David; mother Robin Walston and father, Michael L. David; two sisters, Michaela David and Joyaparis Walston; three nieces, Treasure Walston, Serenity David and Seriyah David; nephew, Amir Walston; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousin/brother Elijah Brown; and special friend, Maurice Gregg; special mothers of his children who mastered co-parenting, Ebony Lewers and Latisha Gill. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Luke and Floyd David; and maternal grandparents Amos and Dorothy Walston Services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, August 30, 2025 at House of Grace Church 518 N. Court Street. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
