Ronald Blum Obituary
Ronald I. Blum, 80, of Beloit, WI, died on Friday, June 6, 2025 in Cedar Crest Memory Care, Janesville, WI.
He was born on June 16, 1944 in Monroe, WI, the son of Ivan and Leona (Vigdal) Blum. Ron attended several one room country schools in Green County and was a 1962 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. He went to Machinist Trade School at Landis Tool in Waynesboro, PA where he met the love of his life. Ron married Patricia Behr on May 8, 1965.
Ron's first job during high school was at Wise Garden & Tractor with his father before spending 35 years at Gardner Machine as a supervisor until they closed and transferred operations to Landis Tool where he retired after 8 years. After his retirement, he went back to work at Ryeco. Ron was an avid bowler, proud of his 300 score and taking first place in the 1977 city tournament. He was known as Mr. Fix It to all who knew him and could fix anything. Ronald was a "Ford Guy", he enjoyed working on cars with his dad, and loved his 1957 Ford. He had a lot of "Ron-isms" like "we are off like a heard of turtles". Ron was a true Wisconsin sports fan and watched every Packer, Badger and Brewer game.
