Dema Kay Delp

Dema Kay Delp, 89, of Marshall passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born August 25, 1935, in Alamo, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lewis and Rachel Myers Fruits. She married Jay Eugene Delp on August 26, 1956, in Alamo. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2006 Dema graduated from Alamo High School. She was a member of the Marshall Federated Church. Dema played and coached softball. She supported the Parke County 4-H program and was a pioneer in the breeding and showing of Miniature Hereford cattle in Parke County. Dema also showed the cattle she raised in several states. Dema is survived by 3 children, Stephen Delp (Anita) of Bloomingdale, Daryl Delp (Cathy) of Marshall, and Sharon Bodine (Pat) of Marshall; 11 grandchildren, Laura Holtsclaw (Ben), Amanda Whitmore, Hannah Farrow (Garland), Kristy Delp, Kelly Delp, Jason Cox (Emily), Stacy Sales (Cory), Regina O'Keeffe, Ronald Delp Jr., Johnathan Delp, and Josie Bodine; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Verda Mills (Gene) of Crawfordsville, and Dianna Waye (Ron) of Waynetown; a brother, James Fruits (Reni) of Lawrenceburg; and 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Fruits of New Richmond, and Judy Fruits of Crawfordsville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Delp; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Bonita Delp; son-in-law, Donald Kelp; grandson, Jacob Ray Kelp; and 2 brothers, Russell and Dennis Fruits. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Marshall Federated Church, 105 N. Main Street, Marshall, Indiana, with Pastor Brian Holt officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, east of Marshall.
