Gloria Shire Obituary

Gloria D. Shire, 75, of Terre Haute, passed away at 12:35 A.M. EST on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, Terre Haute, IN. Gloria was born October 18, 1949, in Gary, IN, the daughter of Donald Ralph Shire and Hazel Jeanetta White Shire. She is survived by her children: Brian (Pascha) Shire of Ashmore, IL, Richard Lewis Jr. (his life partner, Kevin Clark) of Terre Haute, IN, and Rhonda (Ray) Tharp of Terre Haute, IN; siblings: Forrest (Gila) Shire of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth (Beth) Shire of Westville, IN, Paul (Laurie) Shire of Madisonville, TN, and Barbara Martin of Fulton, MO; stepbrothers: Ronald (Kay) Redmon of Council Bluffs, IA, and Larry (Shirley) Redmon of Greenfield, IN; nine grandchildren, including Audrey Tharp and Ozzy Tharp, both of Terre Haute, IN, and Destiny (David) Lewis-Bonfiglio of Folsom, LA; six great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Nala. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Jay Lewis; and her stepfather, Rev. Delmar Redmon. Gloria attended Cornerstone Bible Wesleyan Church in Terre Haute. She was a 1968 graduate of River Forest High School in Hobart, IN, and worked for 14 years as a dedicated home healthcare worker in the Champaign-Urbana area. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mound Cemetery, Jasper County, IL, with Pastor Mary Marlow officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ouabache Valley Feline & Friends, 7300 E. Devonald Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47805. Pulliam Funeral Home, 302 E.
