She graduated from Barry High School with the Class of 1962. On June 2, 1995, she married the love of her life, Floyd L. Weger, in Oblong, Illinois. He survives in Sullivan, Indiana.
Also surviving are her son, Eric Acord of Terre Haute, Indiana; two step-sons, Jameson Lee (Ann) Weger of Burlington, Iowa, and William J. "Jo" (Becky) Weger of Oblong, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Arysson Acord, Gavin Acord, Alex Weger, Julianna Weger, Nathanial Weger, Jarod Weger, Breanna Weger, and Ryan Weger; one brother, John Potter of Barry, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Lou Nelson.
Juanita dedicated many years to her career with the Social Security Administration in both Quincy, Illinois, and Terre Haute, Indiana, where she served as a Benefits Administrator. Following her retirement, she continued to stay active working for H&R Block in Linton, Indiana.
She had a deep love for flowers, sewing, and cooking, and she found joy in reading, playing cards, and gathering with family for board games. Juanita especially enjoyed going on Harley rides with Floyd - with trips through the Smoky Mountains being among her most cherished memories. She was also a proud collector of Cambridge Glass and loved sharing stories about her finds. Above all, Juanita's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.
