Marion M. Smith

Marion M. (Sheese) Smith, 84, of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the McCormicks Creek Nursing Home in Spencer. Marion was born on July 18, 1941 in Lafayette, Indiana to Floyd Clifford Sheese and Ruth Virginia (Wright) Sheese. Marion was a graduate of Freedom High School. She married the love of her life, David T. Wood on July 7, 1961, after his passing, she married Leonard Smith. Marion retired from Owen County State Bank after many years of service. She adored her family and loved spending time with all of them. Marion is survived by her son, Darryl Thomas (Cindy) Wood, grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Emily Wood(James Tolliver), Casey (Jay) Benny, Jared (Mackenzie) Wood, great grandchildren, Ayleesia, Logan, Joshua, Jaiden, Landon, Peyton, Lucas, great-grandson, Desmond, sister, Shirley Strouse. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, children, Danny Wood, Debbie Wood, Todd Allen Wood and brother, Dennis Sheese. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, 105 North Montgomery Street, Spencer, Indiana 47460. Dr. Allan Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in Chambersville Cemetery in Spencer. Indiana. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of services on Thursday, at the funeral Home.
