Brenda Smith Jones Obituary

Brenda Ann Smith Jones, age 52, departed this life on Sunday evening, October 19, 2025, at the home of her son in Walnut, Mississippi, surrounded by the love and care of her family. Funeral services honoring Mrs. Brenda's life will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at New Covenant Christian Assembly Church in Falkner, with Bro. Titus Mathis and Bro. Rebon Brooks officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, October 21, 2025, at the church beginning at 5 PM and will continue until service time on Wednesday. Interment will follow in the New Covenant Christian Assembly Church Cemetery. Born on February 6, 1973, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, Mrs. Brenda was the cherished daughter of William Odell Smith Sr. and the late Gloria Jane Finney Smith. She received her education through the North Pontotoc School System and, on June 30, 1990, married her beloved husband, Mr. Scottie Jones, who survives. A devoted homemaker, Mrs. Brenda found her greatest purpose in caring for her family. She poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home where laughter was often heard and love was always felt. Whether cooking a meal from scratch, crafting something by hand, or simply sitting on the porch with loved ones, she made the ordinary moments extraordinary through her kindness and grace. A faithful Christian and proud member of New Covenant Christian Assembly Church, Mrs. Brenda loved the Lord with all her heart and never wavered in her belief in His promises. She found joy in listening to and singing gospel music, and her voice often filled the house with praise. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, cozy evenings watching television-especially anything spooky or suspenseful-and the laughter of her children and grandchildren filling the room. Her greatest title in life was "Maw." Her grandchildren were truly the light of her world, and she delighted in every hug, every giggle, and every "I love you." She cherished each of them deeply and would go to any length to make them feel loved, special, and cared for. Though Mrs. Brenda often preferred the simple things in life-a quiet evening at home, a heartfelt conversation, or a day spent surrounded by family-her heart was anything but small. She had a gentle spirit, a quick smile, and a way of making those around her feel valued and loved. Her absence will leave a space that no one else can fill, but her memory will live on through the love she gave and the faith she carried so steadfastly. Her life was a living testimony of strength, faith, and love-a reminder that even in life's simplest moments, God's presence can be felt most clearly. In addition to her husband, Mr. Scottie, memories will continue to be cherished by three sons, Anthony Jones (Trisha), Andrew Jones (Nicole), and Micheal Allen Jones (Tiffany Walter), two brothers, William Odell Smith Jr., and Dusty Smith (Jennifer), nineteen grandchildren, Gabby, Billy, Cassidy, Merissa, Dallas, Ethan, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, Bub, Sarah, Harper, Nick, Bradley, Xavier, Sam, and Tyler, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, her daughter, Samantha, her brother, Michael Dwayne Smith, and her grandparents. Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memoires with Mrs. Brenda's family.
