Gladys Walters Obituary
Gladys Virginia (Swanson) Walters, 87, of East Randolph, NY, passed away on Wednesday,
September 24, 2025 at the Heritage Park Skilled Nursing Center in Jamestown.
She was born April 24, 1938 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Charles Henry Swanson and Virginia Mae (Arp) Swanson. Gladys attended the Conewango Valley Grade School and Pine Valley Central School.
She her family and siblings, she was a member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181 and the former Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose. Her interests included, spending time outdoors, walking, mowing and yard work. She loved playing cards (Euchere) and playing Dice (Ten Thousand).
She is survived by her sisters and caregivers; Louise (Robert A.) Brown of East Randolph and Susan Marie Bush of Randolph a brother; Gust (Margaret) Swanson of Busti, 19 nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia, a nephew, Trevor Swanson and siblings, Robert, Paul and Carl Swanson and Mable C. John.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the VanRensselaer and Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph..

Glady was a great friend when I needed her help years ago. We had gotten so close. She was great with my mom too. Mom loved her. They became close friends. I loved the chicken she used to fry for us. She was a great friend to a lot of people.

Gladly you meet so much to me you were always there when I needed to be picked up when I was sad you are always in my heart you were more than just a friend you an your sister were so much like blood family. I love our great time together. You touched every one heart you meet now it's your time to rest.
