Jeff Nanney

Jeffrey Lynn Nanney, known affectionately as Jeff to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in New Albany, MS. Born on July 16, 1955, in Pensacola, FL, Jeff's life was a testament to the quiet strength and enduring love that characterized his every action. Jeff was the beloved son of N.W. Nanney and Rona Mildred Weaver Nanney, who both preceded him in death. His legacy of love and commitment to family lives on through his children, Amy Nanney Jeter (Chad), and Aaron Nanney (Alison), who he raised with the same steadfast devotion he showed to all aspects of his life. His grandchildren, Anna Jeter Butler (Ben), Lily Jeter, Preslee Nanney, and Benton Nanney, will forever cherish the treasured moments and life lessons their grandfather imparted upon them. He was the cherished brother of Ronnie Nanney Inman (Ben), Mittianne Nanney Hall (Jerry), and Steve Nanney (Joan), sharing with them an unbreakable bond that only siblings can understand. Jeff's gentle, selfless nature was a comforting presence that will be profoundly missed by his sisters and brother. He also left many nieces and nephews. Jeff dedicated over thirty years of service to MTD in Verona, MS, where he was not only a respected employee but also a friend to many. His commitment to his work was evident in the quality and care he brought to his role every day until his well-deserved retirement. A man of many interests, Jeff found solace in the tranquility of the outdoors. Mowing his yard was not just a chore but therapeutic, a time for reflection and appreciation of nature's beauty. His artistic talents were displayed in his drawings, a hobby that brought him great joy and allowed him to share them with his family. Jeff's love for reading was profound, and he found great comfort and wisdom in the pages of the Bible, which he had read in its entirety seven or eight times. Keeping a journal was another of his enjoyments allowing him to document his thoughts, sermon notes, and family experiences. Above all, Jeff was a family man, and his love for his children and grandchildren knew no bounds. His gentle demeanor and selfless ways set an example for all who knew him, teaching them the value of kindness, patience, and the importance of putting others before oneself. Jeff Nanney will be remembered as a pillar of quiet strength, a beacon of love, and a man who lived his life with purpose and grace. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Jeff's journey on this earth may have ended, but the impact he made will continue to ripple through the generations of his family and the many lives he touched. A private family service will be held at United Funeral Service, on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Burial will Be in Vista Memorial Park.
