Joe Harold Morse March 1, 1949-October 17, 2025 Services for Joe Morse will be held Wednesday, October 22 with visitation at 1:00 and Memorial at 2:00 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Rev. Clifton Curtis officiating. Honorary pallbearers are: Dave Holley, Robert Elmore, Lynn Crow, Billy Heard, Donald Huffman, John Kelley, Julius Gandy, Jimmy Vaughn, Stephen Phelps, David Lindley, Pete Ledlow, Laurence Taylor, Marty Boyd, Jerry Jones. Joe will be buried at Memorial Gardens at a later date. Joe was a Navy veteran. He had various jobs through the years including: manager of State Superette, retired as Sales Representative for Swedish Match (Red Man chewing tobacco), retired from Oktibbeha County Sheriff Department, bailiff for Oktibbeha County Circuit Court and TBL Security Company. He was a member of American Legion, Southern Cruisers Car Club and the Republican Party. Joe leaves behind Pat Josey Morse, his wife of 52 years, his niece Tiffany Morse Miller (Marty) of Ft. Worth, TX, his niece Rhonda Henry Null (John) of Meridian, MS, his great niece Samantha Miller Dapkiewicz of Ft. Worth,TX and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Valerie Morse Sims and Mandy Morse, his parents Julian and Mary Hazlewood Morse, his in-laws R. E. and Louise Josey.
