John McCarter Obituary

Mr. John McCarter, 73, passed away on May 2, 2025, at his home in Eutaw, Alabama. John was born on February 18, 1952, to the late Howard Grady and Kathryn Elizabeth Gray McCarter. John was a Self-Employed Entrepreneur, focusing on collecting, buying, and selling antiques. He found enjoyment raising and showing chickens. He loved his two Great Pyrenees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Vera Smith McCarter. A visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Mt. Hope Church in Dancy. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include one brother, Phillip G. McCarter (Debbie) of Pheba: two nieces, Brandy Dean (Carlton) of Clinton and Kelly Harpole (Eddie) of Pheba: one nephew, Clayton G. McCarter (Gabby) of Pheba and a special friend, Ann Key of Booneville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 661, West Point, Mississippi 39773.
