Kathleen Sanders Ray, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at her home in West Point, Mississippi. Ms. Kathleen was born October 17, 1930 on a houseboat on the St. Francis River near Parkin, Arkansas where her parents lived. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Boomie Sanders and Lucille Milton Sanders. She married Mr. Curtis Lee Ray Sr., on June 30, 1949, in Parkin, Arkansas, and they were married for 67 years. They moved to West Point in 1967. Ms. Kathleen worked at various jobs outside the home over the years, but enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed cooking for her family and raising a garden in her earlier years. Her biggest joy were the titles: mama, grandma, great-granny, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a prayer warrior and wanted people to know about her Jesus. She loved her Lord and church family at West End Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Ray, Sr., in 2016; a son and daughter-in-law: Curtis Lee Ray, Jr., and Marsha Ray; granddaughter: Connie Roye; and by two sisters: Katherine Long and Evelyn Armstrong.
Visitation is Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating.
