Mary Drain Obituary

Mary Evelyn Drain, age 96, of Carrollton, AL died October 18, 2025 in Columbia, Alabama. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Carrollton City Cemetery with Matt Bonnette officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 ½ years, Wallace Lee Drain, Jr; son, David Lee Drain and wife, Diane; brothers, Richard Russell, Carl Russell and Butch Russell and sister, Sadie Harlan. Survivors include her son, Glenn Drain and wife, Susan; sisters, Faye Russell and Barbara Walters Hatcher; grandson, Lee Drain (Mandi); granddaughters, Melissa Drain Bonnette (Matt), Melanie Drain Ellinger (Carl); nine great-grandchildren, Madolyn Bonnette Childers (Wes), Macy Bonnette Turney (Miles), Max Bonnette, Charley Drain, Josey Drain, Rylie Drain, Brianna Drain Betbeze (Daniel), Alexis Minor and Dylan Minor and great-great grandson, John Reed Childers. Mary Evelyn was born December 29, 1928 in the Olney Community of Pickens County, Alabama to the late Hilary Stafford Russell and Mannie Bryan Russell. She was a lifetime member of Carrollton Baptist Church, a retired employee of the Pickens County Board of Education with 32 years of service and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
