Nancy Curry

Palmetto- Nancy Marie Young Curry departed this life to be with her Creator in eternity from Tupelo Nursing and Rehab Center on Thursday evening, Sept 25, 2025. She was 66 years old. Born in Lowndes County, Crawford, Ms. on June 24, l959, Nancy spent most all her adult life in Lee Co. She attended Shannon High School. Her work life included working for the one and only Papa Vanelli at the original Vanelli's near the hospital. From there she worked a period of time with 5-G Manufacturing in Verona and ultimately was an Assistant Teacher at Shannon for many years. She loved watching TV especially follow Law and Order, crossword puzzles and doing a little "gossiping" on phone with her sisters. She loved playing softball earlier in her life and always loved sports events. Her greatest love was her children and especially MeMaw's 5 grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 5 PM Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Ronnie Hester and Steve Holland speaking. Private family burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc Co. Visitation will be from 4 PM-service time Monday only. Nancy is survived by her children, Joseph Curry (Nancy) and Traci Patterson (Corey) and their father, George Curry all of Palmetto; 5 beloved grandchildren, Christian, Natalia, Isak, Autumn and Jennifer: brother, Waymon Young of Pontotoc; two sisters, Norma Harlow of Ecru and Margaret Taylor of New Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Matalen Young and her siblings, Wally Young, Billy Young, Linda Young Kelly and Judy Young.
