Ruby Mayo

Ruby Lee Frances Williams Mayo of New Albany passed away on May 25, 2025 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born to Henry Arthor and Annie Lou Williams, April 8, 1938 in Marshall County. She worked in the furniture industry for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing as a hobby and for the public, gardening and reading. She was a faithful member of The Ecru Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years and enjoyed singing and worshiping her Lord and Savior. She married Roy Mayo in 1952. They built a life and home in the Ingomar Community where they enjoyed raising 7 children as well as watching their 18 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren grow up. She is survived by her seven children: Mary Page Goudelock of Saltillo, Lois Ann Carroll, Jimmy Mayo, Sherl Rogers (Rodney Rogers) of Pontotoc, Randy Mayo (Dori Mayo) of Nettleton, Diane Weeden (Jerry Weeden), Paul Mayo (Jackie Mayo) of Ingomar; 18 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Her kind heart and warm spirit will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roy Mayo; two sons-in-law, John Goudelock and Jerry Page; one granddaughter, Sue Ann Wilson; one great grandson, Alex Page and a great-great granddaughter, Demi Page. Visitation will be at United Funeral Service in New Albany, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Bro. Glen Williams will officiate the service with burial in the Martintown Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of Pontotoc Extended Care and to Tupelo Comfort Care/Hospice NMMC.
