A Life Remembered with Love With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Troy Michael Walrep, who departed this world on July 19, 2025, at the age of 47. Troy Michael, as he was called Troy, Michael, Big Mike, T-Roy, and many more names, was a cherished Son, Husband, Brother, Uncle, and Friend whose smile, kindness, wisdom, and warmth touched the lives of all who knew him. Born on August 4, 1977, in West Point, Mississippi, Michael grew up surrounded by family, friends, and the simple joy and love that shaped his gentle spirit. From a young age, Michael played baseball and football for county sports and for West Point School. He had a huge interest in computers, this was the time frame the IBM computers, Dell computers and Windows were introduced to the computer world. As he grew up, he demonstrated a passion for playing the bass and guitar with Thomas O. Waldrep, Jr., his father. He was a 1995 graduate of West Point High School in West Point. He graduated from the MUW (Mississippi University for Women) in Columbus where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration back on December 7, 2012. Throughout his years, Michael was known for his unwavering dedication to passion and career in the computer world. He had work at Exceed Technologies, Inc in Columbus for 13 years. His final position was Operations Manager at Envision IT of Mississippi, LLC in Flowood for over 5 years. He also was a co-founder of Magnolia State Records and Effect Mode Entertainment. He left a mark in every endeavor that he undertaken and accomplished. He really inspired those around him with his integrity and compassion. His smile, generosity, and infectious laughter brightened every gathering and created lasting memories. He would do anything for anyone, and he would give you" the shirt off his back" to help you. He was a very caring and loving person. He could always make you laugh; a few fun memories of him: He was terrified of all birds, especially ducks and geese; he would literally try to run from them to avoid them. This would always make whoever was around him just get a great laugh for the day. Back in 2016, He somehow got into the Pokémon chasers' game and had Pat, his sister helping him find them in Biloxi on a trip for their grandfather's 100th birthday party. Troy Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Frances Waldrep, of West Point, his wife, Chandra G. Waldrep, of Columbus, two sisters, Tommie Edwards of West Point, and Pat Stutsy-Waldrep (Mandi) of Oxford, and one brother, David Waldrep Sr. (Carol) of West Point, mother-in-law, Elder Shirley Conner (Roger) of Columbus, two sisters-in-law, Sharon Sharp of Columbus, and Tonya Sharp Smith (Anthony) of Jacksonville, Florida, numerous nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, the coworkers from Envision IT of Mississippi, LLC of Flowood and a wide circle of friends and loved ones who will forever be grateful for the time shared together. His legacy lives on through the countless lives that he touched. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Troy Michael Waldrep's remarkable life, sharing stories, and honoring the profound impact he made. As we gather to honor and celebrate his life, we hold close the moments that made him so dear to us. Though our hearts ache with his absence, we are grateful for the time we were given and the lessons he imparted. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Shirley Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Though Troy Michael has left this earthly home, may his spirit live on in the stories we share, the kindness we give, and the love that continually binds us, his spirit remains in the hearts of all who loved him. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort as we bid farewell to a truly extraordinary soul. Rest in peace Troy Michael Waldrep. Love Always, everyone you touched.
