Arnett Junior Hamrick

ARNETT JUNIOR HAMRICK, 83, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2025.
Born on November 30, 1941, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Dortha Cogar and Arden Hamrick.
Arnett proudly served his country as an Army veteran, working as an air traffic controller during his service. After leaving the Army, he spent 28 years at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory as a Senior Electronics Technician before later retiring from Safeway in 2009. He was an avid deer and squirrel hunter, enjoyed watching western movies and a believer in God.
In addition to his parents, Arnett was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hamrick; his sister, Marie O'Donnell; and brothers Velmer Hamrick and Donald Hamrick. He is survived by his sister Wanda Mattes; brother Michael Hamrick; son Bret Hamrick and his wife Angela; daughters Kathy O'Connor and her husband Chris, and Kelly Hamrick and her husband Greg; granddaughter Alexandra Mace; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family kindly asks that their wishes for privacy be respected.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnett's memory to Hospice of Carroll County (292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157) or to the Veterans Independence Project (95 Carroll St., Suite 104, Westminster, MD 21157).
Arnett will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for the outdoors, and the time he shared with family.
