ELLA WILLIAMS Obituary
LT. COL. USAF ELLA "ERNESTINE" WILLIAMS, age 87, passed away on November 11, 2025, at United Healthcare Center, Bridgeport, WV, after a brief illness.
Ella and her twin sister were born at home on July 18, 1938, in Cowen, WV, to the late Cecil Ray and Vada Lee (Weese) Williams. After graduating from Cowen High School in 1956, Ella began her nursing career through an army program at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Clarksburg. After 6 years in the Army, Ella transferred to the Air Force where she retired as a Critical Care Nurse in 1979. Ella returned to Richwood, WV, and finished her nursing career with the Nicholas County Board of Education as a Vocational Nurse and then County School Nurse.
Along with her parents Cecil and Vada Williams, Ella was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Baughman and Betty Sue Williams and infant brother, Paul Randall Williams.
Left to mourn her passing are her sisters, twin - Dorothy "Sharlene" Williams and Karen C. Williams; brothers, Steven (Peggy) Williams, Ronald (Mary) Williams and Robert (Carla) Williams.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, WV. Interment will follow at West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin, WV. Visitation for the public will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, WV, is in charge of all arrangements.
