Wanda Arnold Obituary

WANDA LEE ARNOLD, born on the 7th of July, 1929, in the heart of Buckhannon, West Virginia, gracefully embarked on her final journey on the 11th of November, 2025, at the Webster Health Care Center. She was a cherished beacon of light and laughter, whose spirit touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable life.
A distinguished member of her community, Wanda dedicated her career as a School Nurse for the Webster County Board of Education, a vocation through which she embodied compassion and commitment to the well-being of generations of students. Her educational journey began at Buckhannon High School, followed by her studies at Glenville State University, where she laid the groundwork for her impactful career.
Wanda was not only a professional dedicated to nurturing others, but she was also a vibrant personality known for her infectious laughter and warm smile. She embraced life's simplicity through her hobbies, finding joy in reading, crafting, and her delightful collection of bells, each holding a story close to her heart.
Her spirit was deeply rooted in her Christian beliefs, and she proudly identified with the Presbyterian faith. A woman of great accomplishment, Wanda served as the Past President of the State of West Virginia Rebekah Lodge, a testament to her devotion and leadership within the community. She was a steadfast member of the Cowen Rebekah Lodge for an impressive 50 years and contributed her time and energy as a former 4-H Leader and a member of the Cowen Garden Club, nurturing not only flowers but also friendships and community ties.
Wanda leaves behind a profound legacy of love and family, including her beloved daughters, Brenda Perrine, Karen DeLisa, and Kathy Barnett; her son, Terry Arnold; as well as five treasured grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who carry forth her spirit.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Eddie Arnold; her brother, Okey Caynor; and her parents, Tretha and Hilburt Allman. Additionally, she will be lovingly remembered by her late granddaughter, Tanya Barnett, grandson, Little Eddie DeLisa, and son-in-law, David Barnett, whose loss brought her immeasurable sorrow.
