BEATRICE "BEA" DEAL CRIST, 91, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2025, Surrounded by love. A devoted wife, mother, and cherished friend, Bea lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and a radiant spirit that touched all who knew her.
Born on September 15, 1934, in Alderson, West Virginia, Bea was a beloved daughter of Henry and Evelyn Deal. From an early age, she exhibited an industrious nature and a steadfast determination that would guide her through every stage of life. After graduating from West Virginia Tech in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Bea took immense pride in her education and later took even greater joy in knowing that both of her children followed her example in pursuing college degrees.
Bea married Charles Thomas Crist, with whom she shared a few years of laughter, partnership, and devotion before he was killed in the military in 1963. Their home was a place of generosity and kindness, where family, friends, and neighbors were always welcome. Bea was the embodiment of selflessness--quick to lend a hand, offer comfort, or even, as loved ones fondly recall, give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
Those who knew Bea will remember her infectious sense of humor and the way her smile could light up a room. No matter the circumstances, she faced life with optimism and grace, lifting those around her with her compassion and wit.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Crist, her son, Charles "Tom" Thomas Crist Jr., her parents Henry and Evelyn Deal, sister, Betty Sullivan, son-in-law: Phillip Keeney; brothers-in-law: Morris "Mouse" Miller, Archie Brackens, and Frank Sullivan; and nephew: Brad Miller.
Bea is survived by her devoted daughter, Anita Crist Keeney; sisters: Barbara Deal Miller, and Bernice Deal Brackens, grandchildren: Eric Keeney, Samantha Keeney, Erin Rice, and Randall Crist; and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home in Greeneville, Tennessee, with visitation on Saturday, October 25, from 4 - 7 p.m., Funeral on Sunday, October 26 at 1 p.m., with interment following at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens in Greeneville, Tennessee.
Bea's life stands as a testament to the power of kindness and the impact of a giving heart. Her laughter, her warmth, and her heart will remain with all who were blessed to know her.
Bea Crist will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
