So sad to hear Bill passed away. I worked for him in Union Carbide and had a lot of good memories about him. He provided me a lot of support, both for work and personal life. I still vividly remember traveling with him to Seadrift and Star plants. He´s a good engineer, manger and advisor. It is a shock to me since he sent message to me via LinkedIn just last Sept. I miss him!

Pat and Garner Girls,
I was so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. We have such great memories of the Bellar-Garner vacations so many years ago. Your dad was a huge part of those memories. The last time I saw Bill at my parent's 50th anniversary we laughed as we relived sailing adventures in Galveston Bay where he taught Chris and I how to sail. I am so glad my mom and dad have had your parents in their lives and have been able to go on so many adventures together. We should all be so lucky to have such great friends. Thinking of you all and sending our thoughts and prayers to your entire family.

Dear Pat,
Nearly 20 years ago your daughter Jennifer visited our home in Richmond Hill, Georgia. As she was considering a film project, she said that it reminded her of your family home in Charleston. Since I am a Lutheran Pastor, she asked if the house was a parsonage. She then told me that Billy was a Deacon in the Methodist Church who was well acquainted with maintaining the minister's residence.
Our greatest legacy in life is raising godly offspring. You and Billy clearly have done that. May the peace and presence of our Risen Lord be with you and your loved ones during this time of grief and grateful remembrance.

Especially love the boat stories; everyone needs hardships to overcome and so glad it worked out for everyone! Lol..... your dad/ grandad would love that....

I was shocked and saddened by the news of Billy's passing. He was a classmate at Robert E. Lee in Baytown, Texas. I'm so happy that he and Pat came to a luncheon some years back, and I had the opportunity to see him as an adult. He was one of the nicest and smartest boys in high school. It's difficult to lose a loved one, but with time, may grief give way to beautiful memories that will forever live in the hearts of his family. He made a difference to all who knew him throughout his life. Bye, fellow Gander. We'll miss you. You were one of the very best.

Billy and I were Texas A&M AFROTC classmates in the Corps of Cadets and also the Ross Volunteers. My wife Pat and I had the great privilege of being with Billy and Pat on a Traveling Aggies tour to the fantastic West Coast of Ireland in May 2018. During that trip we got to celebrate Pat's birthday in Westport. We fondly remember the time as we were departing the hotel for Shannon Airport that "absent-minded Professor" Billy couldn't find his "lost" laptop. The Tour Director was going berserk because of the delay and fear we would be late to the airport. Fortunately, after several minutes of consternation and searching the hotel, he found his laptop - where he had put it - on the bus seat across from Pat. It was great to visit with him on the trip and recall the 'Ol Army' days at Aggieland. RIP Comrade. Photo: Billy & Pat in Galway, Ireland

My friend Bill Garner, his name so bright,
In every moment and hour, in every light.
His memory will stay with us, forever near,
In our hearts, he'll reside, without fear.
We honor him proudly, with love and grace,
Promoted to glory, in a heavenly place.
His soul finds happiness, in eternal delight,
In this world, his memory, forever in sight.

Billy and i were classmates and Squadron mates at Texas A&M and have stayed in touch over all these years. He shared lots of boat pictures and we laughed together over the Capitol One commercial that he did with Jennifer. That one was a surprise to a lot of us! He was a great guy, a true Aggie and a good friend. He will be missed by all of us. It has been a tough three years and now may he rest in peace. He will never be forgotten. Our condolences to Pat and the family.

He hired me for my first job at Carbide. I was the only female technician at Polyolefins pilot plant at the Tech Center. I was told I had 90 days to figure how to get along with the all male staff of operators. I managed to work 17 years before DOW. Many thanks to Bill for my Carbide pension and many life long friends.

Prayers of Grace and comfort for the whole family. Mr. Garner is joyfully where his life´s journey and desire had always been focused. Well done, good and faithful servant! Bill Garner taught me everything I know about Scotch whisky.
He and his lovely bride Pat were right there with me when my husband Robert passed away suddenly, and I will never, ever forget the care and concern they gave me in my darkest time.
Our family, me, Joseph, Jeffrey, and their loving partners send our deepest condolences and care from afar

So sorry for your loss.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name´s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Sorry to hear of Bill´s passing. I worked with him at Union Carbide and he was my supervisor for several years. One thing I remember about Bill was that you didn´t want him to see you after about 4 pm for fear he would ask to talk with you about something and you´d likely be there until 6 pm. He was a great guy.
