Carol L. Hannaman

CAROL L. HANNAMAN 88, of Efland, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Carol was born on July 16, 1937 in Page, Fayette County, West Virginia, daughter of Fonda Davis Hannaman and Wm. Paul Hannaman. Carol was raised by her grandparents in Copen, Braxton County. She graduated from Burnsville High School in 1955 and began working as a clerk at C&P Telephone Co. of West Virginia. Upon graduation from Capitol City Commercial College in 1957, she was transferred to their new offices as a programmer on electronic accounting machines; after C&P installed the first computer in West Virginia in 1960, she became a programmer/analyst and worked her way up into datacenter management. In 1970, Carol transferred to Southern Bell in Atlanta, with several stints in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. She retired from BellSouth in 1987 and relocated to the West Coast. Carol Hannaman was a Christian. She will be fondly remembered by her family in Efland: nephew, Steven Hannaman; his wife Millie and their son Matthew; nieces and nephews: Dianna Sorenson (Michael, deceased) of Whitehall, Michigan; Sharon Rhodes (Rick) of Hurricane, West Virginia; Richard Hannaman (Rossy) of Orange Park, Florida; and Douglas Hannaman (Cindy) also of Whitehall, Michigan; and two remaining cousins: Donna Davis Beck (Dale, deceased) of Pomona, California and Sandra Davis Brodt (Bill) of Davis, Illinois. Carol was predeceased by her grandparents, Rella H. Davis and Enith B. Wilson Davis; her mother, Fonda Davis Hannaman Waldeck; her brothers, James A. Hannaman and Donald K. Hannaman; and her niece Susan K. Hannaman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on December 6, 2025 at Mebane Presbyterian Church at 402 South Fifth Street in Mebane, North Carolina.
