Charles Duffield Obituary
CHARLES HOMER DUFFIELD, 85 years of age of Charleston, formerly of Summersville, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the Hubbard Hospice House at South Charleston. He was the son of the late Fred and Mary Duffield and was born in Braxton County March 21, 1939. Charlie was a retired coal miner and former mayor of East Bank. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Reynolds Street Baptist Church in Summersville. He was also preceded in death by one son, Fred Duffield.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Patty Dancy Duffield; daughters, Donna Bumgarner (Greg) of Charleston, and Judith Kincaid (Fred) of Mt. Lookout; sister, Emma Lou Patitucci of New Jersey; grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney; and great grandchildren, Chase, Cali and baby Charlie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024 in the Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with pastor Arnold Nicholas officiating. Burial will follow in the Sirk Cemetery at Duck. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
