Charles "Wade" Griffith

CHARLES "WADE" GRIFFITH, a true son of West Virginia, passed away this week. Wade loved his home state, and he loved the beach places where he found both roots and rest. He worked his whole life; regardless of the situation, he showed up. That steady presence defined him: a man you could count on, a man who kept his word.
Above all, Wade was a good friend to people. He had a gift for making others feel seen and welcome, whether that was with a quick laugh, a listening ear, or a quiet act of help when it was needed most. He touched more lives than he ever knew, and he will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he graced.
Wade is survived by his two children, Austin Wade Griffith (Kristen) and Alyson Marie Griffith; his grandson, Westin Wade Griffith; his mother, Jan Hall Griffith; his brother, Edward Joseph Griffith (Melissa); and his sister, Melissa Dawn Atkins (Mark) all of whom miss him with all of their hearts. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Griffith.
A celebration of Wade's life will be held at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m.,.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association or simply asks that you honor Wade by lending a hand to a friend just as he would have done.
