DALE PARSONS July 14, 1972 - September 22, 2024 of South Charleston passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus after a long battle with cancer and other health complications. He was a 1990 graduate of Sissonville High School and later graduated from West Virginia Junior College.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernie Parsons, maternal grandparents Woody and Cora Blount, paternal grandparents Holly and Mae Parsons; special Uncle John Pittman and special aunt Ruth Harper.
Dale is survived by his mother Sue Crusan and step-father Don Crusan of Hurricane, brother Casey Parsons of Hurricane and sister Amy Tabor (Bobby) of Charleston, along with his daughter Cassie Nelson of Cross Lanes; special aunt Sharon Pittman of Charleston and special cousins Melissa Carter of Charleston and Shane Harper of North Charleston.
He had two nieces, Olivia Crusan and Courtney Vogel (Jake) of Hurricane, nephew Bobby Tabor II of Hurricane and nephew Brian Blankenship II (Renee) of Columbia, SC.
Also, Dale was blessed with another family who loved him dearly. He is survived by his fiancé and caregiver Melinda "Myndi" Chaplin and her daughters Olivia (James) Simmons (children Octavia and Jaece), Savannah Fisher (daughter Camryn) and Shannon Fisher (son Tyler) and Myndi's mother, Martha Chaplin. He loved all of Myndi's children and grandchildren, but had a special place in his heart for Camryn. She called him "Dale Dale".
Myndi was an absolute awesome caretaker and stood by his side during his illness. She loved Dale unconditionally.
In his younger years Dale loved competing in motorcycle events and played sports. Throughout his whole life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He had a gift of being a handyman and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need expecting nothing in return.
He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
His service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home located at 4203 Salines Dr. Malden, WV 25306 with Minister Dan Harper officiating. The Committal Service & Entombment will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2024 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank Dr. Marsh, Ruby Memorial and Dr. Swan, CAMC Cancer Center; the doctors and staff at CAMC-General, CAMC-Memorial and Thomas Hospital for their care.
The family would also like to especially thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Select Specialty Hospital, where he passed away, for their dedicated compassion and care during his time there.
