Donald William Hebb

DONALD WILLIAM HEBB, 76, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on December 18, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vada Jean (Dolin) Hebb; his parents, Willis Junior Hebb and June Elizabeth (Loar) Hebb.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Jaime (Hebb) Smith, and her husband, E. Shannon Smith of Huntington, WV; his cherished grandchildren, Caleb B. Smith and Katerina N. Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Janet (Hebb) Allen and her husband, Chuck Allen of Alabama; and his brother, Ron Hebb and wife, Paula Hebb of Oklahoma.
Donald dedicated 35 years of service to the State of West Virginia as Special Properties Appraisal Manager for the West Virginia Tax Department, retiring in 2008. He was a proud graduate of Weir High School in Weirton, WV, and earned his Master's in Public Administration from West Virginia University in 1973. He also attended West Virginia State University, West Liberty University, and Georgia Tech.
Donald will be remembered for his commitment to public service, his love for family, and his lifelong pursuit of knowledge. He had a passion for sports and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. His greatest joy, however, was cheering on the WVU Mountaineers football and basketball teams, reliving his college days in Morgantown and sharing that enthusiasm with those around him.
Funeral Services will be held at Cooke Funeral Home and Crematorium in Nitro, WV, on Monday, December 22, 2025. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m.
