Dorl Jeannette Holdren

Into God's Holy Arms DORL JEANNETTE HANNIGAN HOLDREN, 96, of Belle, passed September 28, 2025. She was born January 20, 1929 in Shrewsbury, the daughter of the late John S. and Laura Callahan Hannigan.
Dorl lived a life defined by courage, independence and unshakable confidence. At a young age she bravely faced a long and debilitating battle with polio. During her recovery, she became a symbol of hope for others and was featured in ads and posters for the March of Dimes. Dorl enjoyed school and graduated in 1948 from Charleston Catholic where she made lifelong friends. After marrying her true love, Kenneth, she began her career at C&P Telephone Company, where she worked diligently for many years before retiring.
Following her husband's passing, she found joy in traveling across country with her friend, Eunice. Never one to sit still too long, she found her second calling in retail sales at Stone & Thomas/Elder Beerman, which was a perfect fit for her lifelong love of shopping. She enjoyed every moment of helping customers while developing friendships, finding the best sales and using her employee discount. She loved staying connected to the retail world and finally retired at 86. She was a lifetime member of St John's Catholic Church and supported it faithfully. She lived life on her own terms, with grace, strength and a twinkle in her eye.
Those left to honor Dorl's memory include her son, Jim Holdren and wife, Diana; grandchildren, Joshua Holdren and wife, Kassi, Kendra Beland and husband, Ridge; great grandchildren, Koah and Levi Beland; sister, Mary Hanson and many loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Holdren; daughters, Laura Holdren and Cheryl Holdren Kyle; siblings, Sterling Hannigan, Eugene Hannigan, Anna Pritt, Joe Hannigan and Jim Hannigan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle, with Pastor Charles Mays officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Visitation will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home on Friday.
