Emad Barsoum Obituary
DR. EMAD WAGDI BARSOUM, age 44, of Charleston passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on November 21, 1978 in Alexandria, Egypt. Emad worked at Charleston Area Medical Center as an Internal Medicine physician for over 5 years and was beloved by both his patients and colleagues. He was a talented physician and deeply compassionate. Practicing medicine was more than a career for him; it was a labor of love. When not working, Emad loved laughing with friends, spending time with family, traveling, and fishing. He was a long-time member of St. Mary and ArchAngel Gabriel Coptic Orthodox Church. Emad was loyal, loving, funny, and exceptionally hard-working. He loved his daughter more than life and worked tirelessly to provide for his family and those in need, despite his illness. His sense of humor and infectious smile will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Annie; daughter, Evelyn; parents, Wagdi and Sazy; brother, William; sister, Marian; mother-in-law, Rashell; brothers-in-law, Michael, Jonathan (Rochelle), Jason (Sunshine), and Jeffrey; sisters-in-law, Melissa, Kristi, and Kayleen; Nephews, Wesley, Porter, Spencer, Ammon, and Bola; Nieces, Owyn, Lily, Julianna, Ashleigh, Alanna, Tori, Joy, and Marina.
A service to honor Emad's life will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Mary and ArchAngelGabriel Coptic Orthodox Church with Abouna Shenouda officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Monastery, in Wayne, WV, with Very Rev. Fr. Samuel Haddad officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Friday evening and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Dr Barsoum was my Dr for those 5 years at CAMC. He was the best in all my years there. I am so shocked and sadden by this. I know he is in heaven. May God give his family peace.
