Ernest George Obituary


ERNEST LEONARD "ERNIE" GEORGE 77, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2025, after a courageous cancer battle.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Garnet (Plantz) George and sister, Kathryn Jane George Minor.
He was a graduate of South Charleston High School 1966 and WV State University. After proudly serving in the US Navy, he enjoyed a long career with Walker Machinery, Belle, WV.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Hubbard George; sons Eric (Jodi) George of Charleston, SC, and Jason (Melanie) George of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter Sarah Moniz of Myrtle Beach, SC; and grandchildren Phoebe, Kaia, Braxton, Lexson, and Lemmie. His mischievous humor and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
A Remembrance Gathering will be held on October 19 at Little Creek Golf Course Clubhouse, South Charleston, WV. Please stop by anytime between 1 - 3 p.m., to share memories and fellowship.
Donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute https://fundraise.cancerresearch.org/elg in Ernie's memory.

Dear Alice I'm so sorry for your loss. Ernie was a great boss to me and we had lots of fun working together for so many years. I pray he is with God and can now rest from the awful disease that cancer is.
