Imogene Sizemore Samples

IMOGENE SIZEMORE SAMPLES, 97, of Bomont, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Waitman "Bud" Samples; her parents, John and Myrtle Sizemore; her brothers, James (Linda) Sizemore, Carl (Mary) Sizemore, and Kenneth (Eulah) Sizemore; and her sister, Mary Roxane (Bud) Nass.
Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. A graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1945, she spent most of her life attending Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church, where she found joy and strength in her faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Tim) Sweeney; her grandsons, Charles Sweeney (fiancée Kaleigh Davis) and Hunter (Morgan) Sweeney; her granddaughter, Annessa Sweeney; her brother-in-law, Dale (Evelyn) Samples; sisters-in-law, Betty Snyder, Gertie Nichols, and Dot Taylor, Ogie Samples and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jean was a devout Christian who believed one of her greatest blessings was her family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones and filled many quiet hours reading books she treasured. She also had a gift for gardening, raising some of the most beautiful gardens in the community and lovingly canning vegetables to share with family and friends a tradition that brought joy to all who knew her.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to her nephew, David Sizemore, for the care he gave her over the years.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Samples Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at the Samples Family Cemetery in Bomont.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home.
