98, of Campbells Creek, passed away October 10, 2025 at home after an extended illness.
Jessie Lou was born October 7, 1927 at Coal Fork, daughter of the late Ben H. and Mildred Brannon Moss. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a faithful Christian and member of Coal Fork United Methodist Church for 71 years. She was a graduate of DuPont High School, class of 1945.
Jessie Lou was a loving homemaker who greatly enjoyed reading, nature, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and selflessly caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jesse E. Skiles; brother, Larry H. Moss; stepmother, Lillian "Dixie" Tully Moss and aunt and uncle Helen Moss Blake and Adam Blake.
Jessie Lou is survived by sons, Michael and his wife, Margy, David and his wife, Beth; daughters, Suzanne Davis and husband, Glenn and Millie Walker and husband, Ralph, all of Charleston. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Maggie Gilliam (Scott), Sarah Dempsey (Scott), Matthew Skiles (Ashley), Jesse Davis (Erin), Megan Steffie, Emily Steffie, Ethan Walker, Alyssa Null (Robbie) and Carley Skiles (Luke). Surviving great-grandchildren include, Stephen and Morgan Gilliam, Natalie and Rachel Dempsey, Willa and Abigail Skiles, Jake Davis, Abby Sanders, Layne Davis, Ross Null and Charlie Null. Jessie Lou is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Moss of Hamilton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Edwin Brown and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jessie Lou's family would like to thank Hospice Care and dedicated workers Leslie, Valerie and Lynn for their help and devotion.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle, with Pastor David Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston.
A gathering of family and friends will be held for one hour prior to service time at the funeral home Thursday.
