Joan Reynolds

JOAN REYNOLDS, born August 21, 1935 in Tango, Lincoln County, WV, passed away at age 90 on November 28, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. She lived primarily in Hamlin, WV, but also lived in Hurricane, WV and Huntersville, NC.
Joan was a 1953 graduate of Hamlin High School where she met her first husband, Jim, and they were married 46 years. Joan's second husband was the late A.A. (Andy) Galford and they were married for 22 years. Joan was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and retired from the WV State Police.
Joan was always a hard worker who managed her household while working full time. Along with her husband Jim, she did a great job raising three sons while also taking care of her mother and sister. She was fortunate to take early retirement and spent many years traveling with her husband Jim during the last part of his employment.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents Bunion H. Pauley and Bonetta Burton Pauley, her first husband, James (Jim) Bryan Reynolds, son Michael Bryan Reynolds, her second husband, A.A. (Andy) Galford, brothers Donald H. Pauley (Anna Mae), and Dennis A. Pauley (Betty Lou), and sister, Ruth Lawson (Art), nephew Ricky Lawson, and nieces Mary Jane Lawson, and Marcia Lawson.
Joan is survived by her children Bruce Allan Reynolds (Susan), Huntersville, NC, and James Bartley Reynolds (Kim), Denver, NC, stepsons Greg Galford (John), Christiansburg, VA, and Brian Galford (Elise), Cary, NC, granddaughters Alexandra, Lisa, and Madelyn, grandsons Michael and Addison (Karla) Reynolds, great grandchildren Georgia, Teddy, Lochlan, and step grandson Jackson.
Funeral service will take place at noon on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Koontz Funeral Home in Hamlin, WV, with Minister Charlie McKinney officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memory Gardens in Hamlin, WV. Visitation is scheduled for one hour before the service.
